Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Jeff came home mid morning sicker than a dog...chills, fever, aches.  Thought he got over it couple weeks ago.  Man, now Steven is home for Spring break, hope he doesn't get it, especially since he's on the expensive Typhoid vaccine.

I thought you said your knee was bugging you?

Silly girl! That is a very long MLR.

Hope you are feeling okay and that the knee cooperated a little better.

Love you. :)

SSF ~ I think my knee pain ( at the tibial tuberosity insertion point) is a chronic thing.

This morning's run was supposed to be a 15 MLR. Since it was windy/snowy, I chose to run on the TM, not my favorite. But thought I could always stop when the knee complains. It doesn't hurt when running uphill, just on downhill, warm up miles and prolong running at fast pace. I wanted to see what LT pace it can handle so I ran the 6.2 miles in tempo pace progressively. The knee co-operated until the cool down miles.

It is now rather stiff and sore. I will take a recovery day tomorrow. Have lots going on with R.S. and stuff this week.

Love you tons! :)

Wow, what a long run! I'm so jealous. :) Are you doing Spectrum Smooth??

From Nancy on Tue, Mar 08, 2011 at 20:13:49 from 76.27.19.206

That's a long TM run. Way to go.

Brooke ~ No, I'm not running Spectrum! I love that race. You, Matt and Teena would have a blast there! Can't wait to hear all about it! :)

Nancy ~ Thanks!

Bradley ~ How ya doing, my friend? I think the treadmill was kicking MY butt!:)

Tim ~ Thanks! I actually wanted to do this outside. The midweek MLRs can be dragging if I don't put some variety into it. How's your achilles?

Dale ~ Thanks! Don't be impressed. I stink at TM! :)

From timp on Wed, Mar 09, 2011 at 15:40:06 from 144.188.24.30

hey Smooth - achilles is ok - not normal but ok. I'm trying to be smart and baby it a bit.
