Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Father Winter & Mother Nature must had a fight this morning!  Cold, wind, snow greeted the Wasatch front again.  Reluctantly I resorted to the TM.  Warmed up for 1 mile or so then ran a tempo 7mph pace.  9 miles in 1:18:15.  AP: 8:42.  AM/PM Yoga.

I sure hope the weather co-operates sometime this week so I can do my 9th Yasso's workout.  Weather man said there's a storm coming about every other day.

I feel so privileged to be your first "commenter" of the day :) That never happens!! AHHHH the weather is bi-polar lately. Great run on the TM though, you can really kick butt on that machine, , , I have a hard time mentally kicking it into gear on the TM, would rather be outside like everybody else. Have a great week and hope you get your Yasso's in, , , it's windy down here if it makes you feel any better . . .Any soreness from your race?

Isn't this weather ick! Utah spring time...

Guess what? 3 weeks! 3 weeks! 21 days.

Amber,

You're so cute! I just turn on the TV, sometimes I watch the KBYU channels; but mostly watch the Today show to keep the mind of the boring TM. No soreness from the race. I didn't push hard. I ran it like a tempo run with a little kick at the end. I really want to get my Yasso's in; then I'd feel like I'm ready for Boston.

Bec,

This is great Spring weather to those diehard skiers; just icky for us training for a marathon. Yup, 3 weeks from today at this time I would be done and looking for hubby to scoop me up and take me to the hotel for an icebath. I hope the weather will be GREAT at Bean town in 3 weeks.

What is with the weather? You'd think it was spring in Utah ;) hahahahahaha Great treadmill work out! I walked on mine :) Walking on it is WAY better than running on it :)

From leslie on Mon, Mar 30, 2009 at 16:55:31 from 76.23.61.78

I am about ready to pack my bags and head south! Wanna come?

Nice treadmill work out!!

This entire week is gonna stink! I am sick of it, too. But, soon enough we will all be griping about how hot it is!

Great workout today!

Nice run after Saturdays good run. You still have time to get those Yasso's in if the weather cooperates. I'd say next Monday is the latest you should do that hard of an effort though.

Just run in the afternoon. Those of us that try to run in the morning are getting dumped on, but then the afternoon comes and it warms up and the sun comes out....UUGGGGHHHH! I don't have time to run in the afternoon, but hate running inside too. Oh, how we love the spring, right??

Oh, after all my complaining you did a great job of getting out and getting to it despite the yucky outside!! You are going to ROCK Boston :)

From tarzan on Tue, Mar 31, 2009 at 10:11:10 from 63.255.172.2

Yeah - lovely weather we are having all this week. Hopefully it is not prep work for Boston.

From Kathie on Tue, Mar 31, 2009 at 11:33:51 from 207.155.176.10

Great workout smooth. Yes I agree the weather around here is not being very cooperative, but after St. George last year I think it is good to train in all kinds of weather... you just might have to race in it!

From RAD on Tue, Mar 31, 2009 at 14:27:51 from 67.166.99.8

Hope you had a good run this morning...the weather held off till afternoon/evening today...YEA!
