Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Sitting thru "A Chorus Line" which has no intermission really stiffened everything last night.  A bit chilly this morning, wore caprice, long sleeve, gloves and my favorite zip fleece which I shed half way.  GOSH!  I LOVE RUNNING!!!!  Had to force myself to stop at mile 3 and walked home.  9:27, 8:36, 8:06.  AP: 8:43.  Now if the running gods are with us, we should have a great race day on Sat.

Got to do laundry, clean house, shopping, pack.  My son is coming home tonight!  SO EXCITED!  The caboose won't be home alone.  We will head out tomorrow as soon as I get done orienting a new Primary presidency.  Did I mention I LOVE to run?

BEST of LUCK to everyone on Sat.  I hope to see some of you!  Travel safe!  HAVE a FANTASTIC WEEKEND!

Good run Smooth!

I'm so excited to get this done. Are there any planned FRB meetings/gatherings?

You are going to have a great race!

Love your blog, you are so positive. Have a great SGM Smooth.

Jon, THANKS! I don't know of any planned FRB meetings. Some of the FRBs are trying to get down to the expo between 2 and 4. I am planning to do the same, then we're heading over to Brick Ovens for dinner. A group of friends (some bloggers and some from the other forum) are going to be there. Please join us either way. Oh, I'm going to see Aida at the Tuacahn Sat. night while Larry attends General Priesthood.

Hey Julie! You're the ironwoman, tougher than steel....yet "flexible" as pure gold (it's true, 24K gold is very soft). Can't believe all the things you do and all the hurdles you have to jump over. I hope to see you there too! YOU HAVE a GREAT RACE and enjoy the NO night-shifts this weekend, my friend!

I sure hope to see you in St. George! You are so ready to run a great race, I wouldn't be surprized if you pulled a 3:40 at this point. Didn't you just love running 3 miles! It was so beautiful today, we can just say a prayer that Saturday will be half as beautiful and cool as today! If I don't see you at the start on Saturday, I sure hope to see you at the finish! (I don't start until well after everyone else, so I won't be coming over the line until 4:15 or so (even if my chip time is under 4:00). Lots of love and good wishes to my favorite diamond!

I love you SMOOTH!!!! The running God's are for sure with you this week! Do you know what I think? God designed the St. George marathon course as if he was going to run that course himself! Perfect amount of uphill in the beginning, amazing scenery, and perfect time of the year (minus that it is on conference weekend). You are going to have so much fun, and I really wish I could be there to congratulate you as you take your PR! Stay healthy and rested, and do your best! I can't wait to read about it so don't wait too long to post! Is Jeff coming home? That would be fun if he was able to be there when you ran.
