Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

 :) :) :) Happy Halloween!!! :) :) :)

Karen, Leslie and I met up with Rachelle, Rob, Chad and RAD at the Lehi JRP for a spooktacular moonlight fun run.  Karen dressed up as a blue leopard. :) We were a little concerned that she might not see very well with that mask on, haha! :)  The full moon was bright enough that we did not need headlamps.  We turned back for a short 5 miler since that's the longest distance Leslie has run coming back from an injury and walked the last 0.25 to the car.  We waited a little bit at the car; since we didn't know how far the other 4 speedies were going, we decided to leave.

We drove to the Legacy Center and RAD called just as we were entering the pool locker.  We swam 30 min. freestyle while Leslie gave us breathing pointers.  Then I did TI drill for 30 min. with hubby who met us there.  I wanted to go to the 8:15 cycling class but hubby said I would not have a ride home plus he said I should rest my legs for the Halloween party! :)

It was great to see your beautiful smiling face this morning. I wish you ladies would have stuck around because I brought you trick or treat bags. We will have to meet up again I guess so I can give you yours. :)

Have fun at your Halloween party tonight. :)

It was SO nice to see you guys and I loved Karen's costume. I'm still bummed I didn't get my run in with you. Should've started with you guys :( Glad you got a great swim in! yes, rest your legs. Walking to the door that many times for trick-or-treaters is a workout in itself! :)

Nice seeing you this morning. We actually saw you driving away right as Chad and I were sprinting back.

Rachelle ~ sorry we didn't stick around. The other ladies were anxious to go swimming and back home to get their kids off to school. It was so nice of you to organize the run and bring us treats which hopefully you shared with your nieces/nephews/neighbors/friends! :)

Rob ~ was nice to see you!!! you boys are fast, it took you the same amount of time to run 8 for us to do 5! WOW!!! Can't wait to hear how your TM marathon goes the day before Turkey Day! :)

Rhett ~ strong HOLLOW legs AND large stomach is what I needed for the Halloween party! The aunties in our family always make homemade donuts, soup, chilli, caramel apples, pumpkin somethin' goodies...help me!!! :)

Toby ~ the calories burnt were quickly replenished and overloaded a few hours later from all the Halloween party gluttony! :)

Brooke ~ oh we wish wish wish you lived close by too! It would've been so fun having you here runnin' with us! ;) hope you had a great Halloween. Did you take your cute Hailey out to trick or treat? :)

Nancy ~ yes, it was a good workout and pork out day! Hahaha! :)
