Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Hey there Ms. Smooth! long time no hear from you. It was great to see you in my in box this morning! I see your doing the ST Geo 1/2 Mary on the 18th, good luck and drive careful and be sure to post a race report telling us all about your experience at the St Geo half! Wow, you really put in the time and effort running six (6) marathons in 2019. I must be old, fat, lazy and my mother still dresses me funny.(God rest her soul) I only got in two Marys in 2019 along with some 5 & 10k's and Boston in April and Huntsville in September. Since Sept I've kinda sat around and got fatter, older and uglier and need to get busy getting ready for another running season....

I hope you enjoyed the St. George half. Did you get to see Teena when you were there?

Slick: I'm getting older, fatter, but hopefully not uglier! Haha! But you are still MUCH MUCH FASTER than me! :)

Rhett!!! I enjoyed the St. George Half a LOT! It was perfect running weather. It's always a well organized race with a good size field of fast runners. I didn't see Teena there. I heard she is training for the Ironman this May. I didn't even see her at the St. George Marathon back in Oct. I really miss her.

Oh, I just talked with Gary yesterday. He's having a hard time finding marathon #99 to do because he's traveling in March and April. So Boston may be #99. I'm sure he'll work one in, possibly Cowtown on March 1. Oh, and he is turning 60 in May!!!
