Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

20 min bike.  Another sweat factory!

My bags are packed.  Dinners are cooked.  Stupid flight is delayed.  Steven received his mission call this morning!  BUT he has to wait till I get home tonight, like 11pm, so we can skype and watch him open his call.  Testing his patience! :)

Got home at 10:30pm and immediately skyped Steven!  I videoed him opening his call via web cam.  Guess where he is going???

Ooohhh! Mission call! Who is Steven? I want him to go to Denmark with my boy! My son received his call while we were in Japan so we had to wait 5 days before opening it! Luckily he was in Japan with us so he didn't have to sit and look at it.

From RAD on Wed, Jan 19, 2011 at 17:47:38 from 67.172.229.125

OH man! AND the flight is delayed. This is going to be horrible for him :)

Nice work on the x-training!

Kim~Steven is our youngest. He is attending Utah State! He is our # 5 son to go on a mission. None of them went to Denmark nor Asia. His dad hopes he will go to a Chinese speaking mission! I am just excited...anywhere the Lord sends him, he will do great! he has been waiting forever!

Rachel ~ The anticipation is killing us!!! I am chatting with the pilot right now at the gate. He said the delay is due to swapping planes. All of us are anxious to get home

From Smooth on Thu, Jan 20, 2011 at 23:18:28 from 74.211.25.43

THANK YOU everyone!!! Yes we are thrilled about Steven's call. The icing on the cake is that his mission president is a good friend of ours, also a marathoner himself!!! Can't get any better!!! :) :) :)

Sophie ~ Yep you are a very good ball-handler. I'd love to watch you play b-ball and beat the boys!!! :). OH! I hope I get to run with you one day! You are getting too FAST for Nana Smooth! I LOVE YOU!!!

Brooke ~ 80 min is ... Dare I say: average!!! Some runners on the blog do 100 min + all the

time! But nothing beats running though!

Looks like you are healing well and back to running already!!! GOOD JOB!!!

Kathie ~ I signed up for the half...not sure if the knee will hold out. Hope to see you, your

sisters and mom too!

It was at Painters 4 years ago that I met all of you!!! Good times!!!

From Smooth on Fri, Jan 21, 2011 at 15:13:21 from 74.211.25.43

He reports to the MTC on May 11. We are hoping the bishop will let him speak on April 24, the day after his brother Jeff's wedding, all my out of states kids will be home then for that weekend.

I have better run a healthy Boston which is 5 days before the wedding or 6 days before the farewell! LOL!!! :)

SMOOTH! Hello and Congratulations on the mission call! thanks for the comment on my blog. Made me remember that I am supposed to be a reformed blogger. We are heading home to Utah around May 1 as my parents have been called to be mission presidents and will be serving a mission starting July 1 in Sweden. Crazy times. Can't wait to see you again and catch up. Hope all is going well and good luck with Boston training!

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 25, 2011 at 19:45:26 from 67.2.95.228

I'm so HAPPY you're moving back in May!!!
