Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

8 EZ recovery.  AP:  9:44.  Another snowy day.  It was so calm and serene...like inside a snow globe.  I was completely covered with a layer of the white stuff.   I LOVE carefree running.

So excited for tomorrow's run...with bloggers and friends on the Lehi JRP.  I will bring oranges since I'm still on the no-sugar-challenge!  See ya at 8am!!!

Amen to what Paul said. I love you so much, SSF. 80 minutes with you at lunch is not nearly long enough!!! :)

What should I bring?

From RAD on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 16:41:32 from 67.172.229.125

I LOVE running in snow like that - SO serene, especially if you can find a quiet place!

No, I don't think I'll really bring my bike :) I would love to, but I'll be cold and I have spin at 7 - depending on time and my motivation I may stop by on my way home to say hello! You're doing 20, right?

From Smooth on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 16:49:05 from 174.23.239.148

SSF ~ I know, I need more giggle-time. Whatever you have at home. Hot water and no sugar cocoa?

Rachel ~ Please do stop by. I miss you! I'm running 15-16. Saving the legs for next week's 22. :)

From RAD on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 18:16:05 from 67.172.229.125

Okay, so I'm assuming 16 (since when did you do the low end estimate of a long run? :) ) would put you finished around 10:40 ish? I'm estimating a 10mm for stops, late starts and potty breaks :) Maybe I'll try to get there around then - that would be lovely to visit with all you amazing ladies!

I am thinking of joining you after my shift if I can find the start : D. It depends if this burning achilles problem lets up and if I have a dreadful shift. I will be wearing my 850 miles + shoes, so look for them if you don't notice me :D.

From JulieC on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 18:51:37 from 71.213.101.124

How do I get there from let's say the McDonalds there? If I am not there by 8am just be prayin' I am asleep in my bed : D.

From Kelli on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 20:07:51 from 71.219.89.82

See you in the morning! I think I am shooting for the full 18, but if everyone else turns around, I will, too. I get bored by myself and I need a crowd to protect me from the wildlife out there!

I will have to jet the second we are done, unfortunately! BIG day tomorrow at our house, hate that!

See you in the morning!

OH---and I was laughing because I was thinking just what you were today. I felt like i was in a big snow globe, the snowflakes were HUGE and all over my face and sticking in my eyelashes.

I can't wait to see you again, it was so fun today.

I'm very excited about tomorrow morning! Need me to bring anything?

From Scott Wesemann on Sat, Feb 20, 2010 at 00:26:21 from 75.162.73.244

Smooth- My ball is an "Altus Body Ball". Regular price $29.99 and on sale for $11.99.

Hope you guys have a great run tomorrow.

From Smooth on Sat, Feb 20, 2010 at 00:34:21 from 174.23.239.148

Rachel ~ Deal! Can't wait to see you! :) You have my cell, right?

Julie ~ If you're coming from PG, you can drive on State St. all the way to North Lehi. McDonalds is on Main St., so don't turn there. Stay on State St., past Costco, past the lights on Center and 300W till you hit 1500 N which has a traffic light and Chevron gas station on the west (left) side, turn onto 1500 N and drive straight west for about 2 miles, the parking area is just before the bridge, it's actually right by the old bridge on the south side (left) of the Rd.

You can also come on the freeway, take Lehi 1200W exit (282 or 283). It is the one south of Thanksgiving Point. Turn left (west) to go onto State St. (SR 89) and drive south to 1500 N, Chevron gas station is on the right. Turn right to go west about 2 miles.

Hope to see you in the morning! I will PM you my cell #.

Kelli ~ Steven has violin, so I'll need to be back in time for him too. I'm good for 18 unless it's really windy up there. No worries about the wild animal, you have your cell phone, actually you can out run the critters.

Kathie ~ Let the giggle time rolls!

Luz ~ We will wait for you! You still have my cell #, right?

Maynard ~ Just bring your cool-dude self! SOOOO excited to see you!

Scott ~ THANKS! I'm going to Big 5 tomorrow!

From JulieC on Sat, Feb 20, 2010 at 09:22:10 from 70.56.111.7

Sorry Smooth. Long extremely busy night and to top it off I am injured. My achilles tendon is on fire starting at the side of the knee to the back of the ankle. Actually my lower back has been throbbing so I think its disc dryness and sciatica combined. The new shoes making me change my landing caused the problem. I haven't felt this much burning pain in a long time. I am going to go to bed but I am worried how long this will take to heal. Hopefully I will be back out running Monday. Have a great run!! Wish I was there with you all and the fine chatter :D.

Snow globe? I am so happy that you can see the bright side to everything, INCLUDING the weather. Snow=good skiing. We both know this.
