Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

I am enjoying my daily morning visit with my 82 & 83 yo friends.  Beverly insisted on giving me apples and bananas for my run.  When I told her I can't carry that much food, she gave me a baggie of nuts, dried pineapples, raisins, chocolate chips.  Such kindness!  Can you believe this sweet lady taught 4th grade till she was 74?  She didn't want to quit but her own children made her.  She is the most graceful, elegant, hard working go-getter.  Bob always looks at her with twinkles and love in his eyes! :)

15.4 mi in 2:20:10.  I think that was a good distance, high end of a MLR.   Legs felt fine once warmed up.  Tomorrow I'll do an easy recovery run before heading down to SG.  I am SO EXCITED to spend some time with my SSF and wonderful running friends!  :)

You are so lucky you made that decision to run longer this morning as the current weather is not so inviting :DD. Getting it done. YOU ROCK!!

One question: "How do you do it?" That is all.

Wait... I have another question. Did you order your Boston jacket yet? The black track jacket is sooo cute! I might buy one just because I re-qualified.

Luz ~ She gave me a bag of homemade caramel the other day. I should be bringing them food. :)

Julie ~ That storm was wicked! Hope it clears up for Sat. for the relay AND for my son's eagle scout project!

Amber ~ I am the luckiest girl with so many dear dear sweet sweet and kind friends. I feel guilty neglecting some of them sometimes.

Can't wait to be down in sunny SG. I hope it's gonna be sunny!

So, I want to know how you like Pfitzinger's book. I am not smart enough to make up my own training schedule. This at least gives me a framework.

auntie ~ I think folks from that generation are the greatest. I feel privileged to get to know them.

Your running/skiing/workouts are so fun. You're on top of the world now!

Toby ~ THANK YOU! I'm so excited for your "8th week recovery". You will soon be running! YAY!

Bec ~ I should be asking you that question!
