Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Smooth, are you drinking the Dew now? :) That will amp you up pretty good. What does the Prez think about that? :)

Nice 800m repeats. Those are definitely faster than you used to run them. Great job.

Nice speedwork Smooth! So sorry about your lost pics and files yesterday! Bummer!!! Yeah for 15 weeks till St.George! Then for sure when you come down we have to go enjoy a cookie together from Dutchman's Market- - - -:) Keep up the great work, I'm gonna start trying your Round the World Abs so I can get a flat tummy like you :)

From Bec on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 10:24:56 from 67.177.35.60

It looks like you are back in your game. 14 weeks until St. George, or something like that? Rest up, and keep running strong!

From Bec on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 10:31:36 from 67.177.35.60

One more thing... Are you running the Lehi 5k on Saturday? Or are you too busy with the wedding stuff?

From Teena on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 11:55:04 from 67.177.20.13

Hey Smoothi!!

Nice workout out. How is your IT band feeling this morning? You are more than welcome to come over and we can work on it. Maurine is coming over today. We could have an IT band party!! :)

Okay, we need to discuss where and when for the next trb date.

Love you!!!

(I'm sure David's scores were great!!!)

From Smooth on Thu, Jun 25, 2009 at 12:40:24 from 71.36.70.118

Mark,

I think I'm liking intervals especially when I'm busy...get it done and over with.

Marion,

With any plan, it's easy to follow in the earlier weeks. It gets harder when closer to goal marathon. Hope I can stick with it by Sept.

Rhett,

The last time I did 800's was 3 weeks after Boston and 10 days out from Ogden; so wasn't much of an interval run. This time I was glad I only had to run 4 of them because I was hanging on with dear life.

Kelli,

I feel like I'm having jet-lag. Everyday since WBR I would get really sleepy around 6 pm. I slept thru first half of my niece's recital Tue night. Tonight I get to go to the other two niece's recitals...may be I should bring a sleeping bag.:) LOL

Rachel,

You're too funny! Alligator pee!!! I hate soda. Hubby hates Dew. Now we have one more reason to stay away from that stuff.

Kathie,

Yes, no running today. I'm planning on a long run tomorrow (Fri.)

Maurine,

I'm not always consistent with following the plan. I have to play it by ear most of the time.

Julie,

The last time I ran on the track was when I started to have ITB issue on my left knee. I think I'll hit the track once a month, the other time I run around my block which is a nice 2 mile square. I've been having a hard time getting up early when it's cooler ever since the WBR.

Amber,

I went to my team captain's house and he helped me back up the pics I took at WBR. So at least I have those. He's making a video for us.

Yes, I'd love to run for the cookie. Hey, I will see you at Park City. It's a small race and for sure I'll be able to find you. Have you registered for it yet? I tried yesterday; but it asked for a password for the Grand Slam which I don't have. I'm trying to get it from Wasatch Running Center.

Bec,

I'm not running the Roundup 5K. You know how I HATE 5ks. You're right. We have a wedding Sat. in Manti. The luncheon/dinner is in Provo. Lotsa family stuff going on this weekend.

Teena,

What time is your ITB party?

Tomorrow I'm running long. Next week any day is good for trb. I will be at Grand America overnite on Mon night and Tue morning. Just let me know. LLL LLL LLL LLL

A sleeping bag might be over the top a bit! I am proud of you for making it to 6, I keep crashing around 2!!!
