Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Ran 45 min with some 1min on/off on the TM.

We were supposed to be in Canberra for Zone interviews today but cancelled the trip because the missionaries arrival was delayed from Wed. to today.  But then last night we got notice that it was once again delayed to tomorrow.  Then this morning we got an urgent phone call that one of the missionaries got sick and will come on Monday.  SO, this arrival was changed/delayed THREE times.  SO, we decided to take advantage of this "free day" and take the train to tour the city.  We will have an early airport run for one sister missionary arriving tomorrow morning.

We took the train from Mortdale, closest station to the mission office.  We bought a round trip day pass which was about $7.  It was well worth it not to have to drive and find a car-park in the big city.  We got off at Central, closest to Chinatown, walked down George St. towards Hay Market.  We could not find the Zilver restaurant recommended by Elder Hoer for yum cha.  So we turned down on Pitts and grabbed lunch at a food court.  We walked back on Pitts towards Liverpool where we located the building that the Harbor Stake YSA meet.  We are invited to speak at their FHE this coming Monday.  We noted that the closest station is Museum.

We walked through Hyde Park and down Elizabeth through the historic government district towards the harbor.  The Sydney Opera house is magnificent.  On the way back we walked through the Royal Botanical Garden and got on the train at St. James which took us to Central.  We transferred train on platform 25 for the train back to Mortdale.

By the time we got back, we were dog tired.  We basically walked for 6 hours with a brief lunch break.  We also took lots of calls.  Many of our wonderful hard-working  missionaries are sick with colds, flu, sore throat, headache, fever, stomach ache...3 missionaries have knee, shoulder and hamstring injuries.  :(  We LOVE our missionaries.  They are AMAZING!!! :)

Did the tempo run program on the TM.  It's been awhile since I was able to run outside.  I look longingly and enviously when we drive out in the morning and home in the evening and see runners on the road.  Weather is perfect for running now in the winter here!

One Saturday morning I took these pix on my last and 2nd ever outside run.  The road is rolling hilly around my neck of the wood.

With blind curves

and narrow shoulder.  This runner was running facing traffic and no sidewalk.  On weekdays there'd be cars parked alongside.

I was running on the opposite of the road on this sidewalk.

This is where I run, the darkest room in the house, and for only 30 min. 3-4 times a week!
