Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Ran with Karen (Sky) and her son, Brad on canal trail then up on Highland trail to 4800W and back via 1200E.  Nice cool temp, sunny blue sky, calm.  Easy conversational run.  Knee was tight during warm up, same old stuff.  No tapering for the Angel Marathon this Sat. which will be first long run of 2012. :)

Found out last night that the Orphan Hope Marathon is in the same location/course as the Rocky Raccoon (a week later)...gonna be interesting and fun since I've never run on forest trail before! :)

Oh my heck! Marathon on Saturday and then two one week apart? You are my kind of woman Smooth! I would end up injured though....I wish I had your body! Good luck this weekend!

Go Baby Go! Let the fun begin? 12 in 12 is a tough dance partner! But we all know that you can do it with bell on!What marathon are you considering for March Or are you going to recover for Boston? Speaking of that, what are you looking at doing for July, August, September, October, November, and of course December?

By-the-way, where is are the Angels and Orphan Hope marathons and what day of the week are they run on?

What an awesome run to start the New Year!

Your Feb marathon makes me so jealous! Plus then another one? or maybe you aren't running the 2nd one?

Amy, Brooke ~ No I am not running both the Orphan Hope and Rocky Racoon. They are on the same location just one week apart. Rocky Racoon is full this year. I am thinking about running Rocky Racoon 50 miler next year.

Slick ~ Both Angels and Orphan Hope are on Saturdays. There are not that many Saturday marathons outside of Utah. I have not decided which race to run in March...most likely the Lake to Lake relay in SG first Sat. of March, then the Buffalo Run (haven't decided on the distance yet) and may be the Riverton Half. As for the second half of the year, I will probably run the same marathons as in 2011 with DesNews as a wild card to make up for December. The monthly marathons will be run as extra long run, will only race a couple of them when conditions/opportunities are just right. :)

Thanks for clearing that up...
