Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Spoke in the Stake Youth Conference fireside.  I shared my conversion story and my testimonies.  The scriptures I used was 1Ne 3:7 and Moroni 7:19-22.

The best comments I got was from Sister Haws who is the Stake YW Pres.  She said I made her son cried! (Hope that was a good thing!)  She couldn't wait to ask him how the Spirit touched him.  Later Bro. Moss (the Stake clerk) said that his sons said they liked me better than John Bytheway!  Now, that might not be a good thing! :)  Sister Hillary Weeks said: "I want to be like you.  Thanks for reminding me to be the woman I have always wanted to become!"  I humbly take that as the kindest compliment.  In all sincerity, I just hope that the Spirit was there to inspire the youth to search their own souls, to seek a testimony of the Savior and live to keep that testimony alive!

Walked, jogged with Mary and Laura.  Nice cool cloudy day.  Legs are a bit tired and tight!   Lots of stretching throughout the day!  Ate more protein.

Nice and slow recovery miles.  Would have gone swimming if I knew how.

3 circuits of CSE.  Biceps and triceps.  Lots of stretching with some light foam rolling.  Tightness in quads getting better.  Right patellar tendon still tender at the insertion point.

Easy recovery run that got progressively faster.  Legs felt pretty good.  Knee is bugging post run and after sitting for awhile.  Lots of stretching.

6 easy, although it didn't feel easy.  0.5 mile on dirt checking out the construction progress on the canal.  Can't wait 'till it's all done and have the canal trail back!  Nice cool morning.  Ran by the field where my hawks were seen last year and nearly got attacked by some pesky black birds...GRRR!!!!

Karen picked me up to meet RAD, ScottW, Chad, Maynard and Annette at 7 at the JRP.  The river was very high and calm.  Thanks to Chad guiding us around Willow Park to avoid the flooded tunnel under Center St.  and the FUN chats, the miles flew by.  Saw a deer, lots of birds (a Falcon?), a remote control airplane and a snake freaked RAD majorly when Maynard pointed it out to her! Ha!!!  Good thing I was too blind to notice!  :)  Knee bugged here and there during warm up and at the end.

THANKS Rachel for the invite and everyone for coming; you're AWESOME company!!!  I wouldn't have run this many miles and not nearly as FUN if it weren't for y'all! :) :) :) :)
