Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

You guys up there in Utah must been doing some serious praying for precipitation, because it just doesn't stop, from the snow to the rain now. Good, I need to keep my lake full.

Enjoy your day away from running Smooth.

jun,

Yes, the old bridge west of 1500 N, turn right (west) at the Chevron gas station for two miles.

RPaul,

Diane is one of my dearest friend. I'm so happy that I can be there. Not sure I'm of much help. She's so organized and creative...I'm there to soak it all in.

Bec,

You remember Becky? She's David's age. It's her wedding. Wonderful family.

Rhett,

I'm beginning to wonder if we live in Washington. We used to never get rain on the weekends and I thought it was because of all the Mormon moms praying for good weather for their kids' weddings. The Mormon farmers' prayers must be more powerful!

Have a good day. I need to clean, too. But Scott is my cleaner and he is out of town. I keep thinking if I just wait until 2, he can do it! But it would be better of me to have it done, so off I go....

You never cease to amaze me how you fit everything into your tight schedule.

I wouldn't mind that it rains on Saturday as much if it wouldn't be so beautiful on Sunday... Sometimes I think it is a temptation!

From marion on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 20:17:52 from 71.213.127.206

It think there should be a rule- all storms on Sunday starting at 1 am and then finishing by 4 pm for clean up. All Saturday mornings should be 52-56 degrees with no breeze and all down hill. Then after we get home from our runs, the temp goes up to 78-83 degrees and cools off at night into the 40's to 50's. there are no mosquitoes.

have fun tomorrow am. Maurine, Luz and i are getting dropped at Vivian park and running down to the lake :) I want to spend some time on that trail. I am such a worry wart CHICKEN!!!

Did y'all freak out over your first marathon???
