Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Ok, the tile guy said he would be here around noon.  So I took advantage of a *free morning* and went to Target to find a more modest black top to go with the cute shorts.  Yahoo, I found two black sleeveless (NOT tank tops w/ the racer back kind) tops that are extra-small and on clearance! :)  When hubby♥ got home I modeled it for him...he liked it! :)  While he worked in the yard, I went out for a test run in the new outfit.

I believe the temp was in the 80s at 5pm and sunny when I ran around the block.  It was SO HOT wearing black under the scorching sun.  I am rethinking wearing it on Sat.

The tile guy NEVER came!  Neither did the mason!  NO ONE shows up to work today!  Grrrr!!!  I am sick and tired of the *destruction mess*.  Did I mention they jack-hammered the cement steps in the back on Monday and left a gigantic pile of messy concrete along with the mason's mess of broken bricks and mortar, scalfolding, cement mixers, wood pallets...?  Why do men love to make messes???!!!

If I knew how to do masonry work, I'd come do it for you. I guess people must not want to work and get paid.

Our new carpet is coming in the morning and I can finally relax for a little while.

You can't buy a break with your contractors. It seems to be one thing after another. Good luck in St. George. It looks like it is going to be hot one.

Seriously, you need to talk to Doone and you will feel much better about your "destruction mess." She can truly empathize with you on this one. I'm glad Larry gave the thumbs up on the outfit. What's the weather supposed to be in St. George?

Smooth - where are you? I saw you briefly after the marathon, and then you disappeared. I hope you're somewhere enjoying a relaxing vacation. Can't wait to read your report.

From Rhett on Fri, Oct 07, 2011 at 13:46:43 from 216.67.220.16

Smooth, are you, Teena, and Kathie having a contest to see who can go the longest without posting a SGM race report? I hope you're recovering well.

Dale ~ Is your carpet all installed now? It will be at least another 10 days before our carpet gets installed. The contractor finally got a bobcat (at our expense of course) to help clean up the mason's mess last week.

Chad ~ Delays with construction is to be expected. I am tired of living in this mess for 3 months.

Rhett ~ I seriously need to talk to Doone to catch up on you guys' lives! :) SG was HOT!

Brooke ~ Report is finally up, 8 days late! I've been crazy busy! How's your life with prego so far?

Flat ~ I need to go read everyone's race report. It's been crazy around here.

Marc ~ I was bummed that I didn't get to visit with you and snap a few pictures. Larry was bummed that he didn't see you. My report is finally up. I've just been so crazy busy with the remodeling project and life in general.

Rhett ~ I haven't checked...but I think I won as being the last one to post the SGM race report! :)

Dale ~ It may be old news...but it's here for posterity! :)

allie ~ sorry to keep y'all waiting. I am recovering well. Contemplating the next race. PE 50 and Mesquite...

Steamer ~ How've you been? Sorry I haven't been on the blog much lately. Life's been crazy. I am recovering well from St. George...hmmm may be I should've run harder...dang!

Smoothie, I'm glad you're recovering. We got our new carpet a couple of days before the marathon. I was going to run the marathon, but I hurt my back again the day before, so Amy stepped up and ran it for me.

From DaleG on Mon, Oct 10, 2011 at 11:34:31 from 184.224.196.177

Oh, by the way, I was totally kidding about The marathon being old news. Been waiting to read your report.
