Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Only had time to run 2.  Nothing's broken; just very rusty.   Should have done the dipping when all the neighbors were gone yesterday.  Now everyone's back from girls camp and vacation.  Sorry if I unintentionally traumatized any of you.  :) :D

I don't know how you do it, Smoothie. Already this year you've run three marathons and several other races and you're still going strong. You are amazing!!!

Nothing broken...That's always a good sign. I hate when the neighbors with a pool get back from vacay... (you totally should have gone).

I love you so so so much!

Have lots of fun and help Lowell be on his best behavior!! :)

Great workout! Have fun this weekend, that is what it is all about!

From Huans32 on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 16:55:43 from 138.64.2.76

I hope to see you at the race Smooth. If not have a blast. I will be looking forward you.:)

2 miles is perfetc. Just enough to loosen things up, not enough to do any damage. Good luck tomorrow.

From MrsFIT on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 18:01:55 from 24.2.68.35

Hope to see you on the road at WBR, just not as "road kill!!!"

From Smooth on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 18:09:52 from 71.32.232.156

Thanks everyone! I'm kinda nervous about WBR. Have never run in the middle of the night before. You know how directionally challenged I am; not to mention I'm blind as a bat in daylight. :)

Hope you all have fun as well!

Just follow all the butt lights in front of you!!! You will all look like a bunch of fire flies running in the mountains, it is pretty cool!

I have to say I made Scott do my night run with me at Del Sol, I was a CHICKEN. No such thing this year. So I will be out there scared with you. I may have to find another chicken and latch on to them and we will run together.

Scott is in bad shape, I may be running his legs for him, crazy guy!

From Kelli on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 18:56:33 from 71.219.76.64

WHERE do you buy the markers to write on your car??? I guess I am now in charge of that. When I do nothing but sit on the computer all day the men on my team think I need a job to accomplish!

From Smooth on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 20:50:26 from 71.32.232.156

Kelli, butt lights? You mean I have to wear headlamps and butt lights? I hope there's another slow chicken picking her way up East Canyon or I might just make Lowell run my leg. :)

So sorry to hear that Scott is still hurting. Is it his back? Bummer he had to travel right after UVM 'cause you weren't there to baby him.

I bought the window markers at a store where they sell party goods, like balloons, streamers, favors. There are two stores in Lehi, Party Land and Pioneer Party. I'll bet if you ask some of Ashly's friends from HS; they would know. The kids like to decorate their cars for graduation and ball games. GOOD LUCK! There are 10 men/boys, 1 girl and A GRANDMA in my team. They think the grandma has nothing to do but sit and knit all day. :)

From Kelli on Fri, Jun 19, 2009 at 00:21:47 from 71.219.76.64

Until that grandma kicks some fanny! Hey, our van 1 is supposed to arrive at the park around 1:35 or so, isn't that about your time? If we can keep our teams together, you can run in the dark with Misty (walter's wife)!!!

I turned the car decorating over to someone else. It is not my thing. We will see what happens.

From Smooth on Fri, Jun 19, 2009 at 09:50:04 from 71.32.232.156

Kelli, my 2nd leg is # 19. Projected start time is 12:42 am. (~1:00). It'd be cool if Misty's running that leg and I can run with her.

Decorating is NOT my thing. I'm just gonna write the name of my team on the back window.
