Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Sunny day!  Yay!  NO wind!  Hooray  Temp in the low 40's!  Perfect!!!  Took Lex to preschool, put Luke in the honka donda bike-trailer and off we went on the same 3 loops winding, rolling, narrow sidewalk route.  Passed the same two elderly couples 3 times.  Come to think of it, they're probably my peers.

TT: 1:12:04  Splits (PR from Tue, I think):  11:10, 9:58, 9:42, 9:39, 9:36, 9:47, 9:45, 9:41. YES!

Off to pick up Lex then to the airport to pick up Papa!!!  I miss him SOOOO MUCH!  WooHoo!!!  SO EXCITED!!!  Am one happy Nana!  LIFE IS GOOD! :)

What a week you have had Smooth! Wow!! i just caught up on all of your adventures and i had a smile on my face the whole time reading about your busy, busy, busy days with your grand-kids! You are a super-Nana! Way to get some running with that stroller :) I think you get to cut your splits in half because of the stroller so that means you about 5 min miles! You're smokin!!! :) How nice that your grand-kids get to have you this last week, I'll bet they've had so much fun!

Awesome! Maybe I need to do some stroller training.

From Smooth on Thu, Dec 03, 2009 at 22:54:20 from 71.52.65.202

Amber ~ I kept thinking about how cute you are with your darling little family and how energetic you are! What a great momma your boys have!

Julie ~ Yep, I feel young most of the time...except when the arthritis act up. Seriously, I see people my age and I thought to myself: "They look OLD!" and wonder if I look as old! Hehe! (evil laugh!)

Rachel ~ THANKS! Right back at ya!

Kathie ~ Yep, that thing is fit for my son-in-law who's 6'4". I think my arms got a good workout too!

Hey SSF ~ Prez did the dishes and swept the floor, gave Lex a piggy back ride up the stairs pretending he's a transformer car. Can you believe that? He's hardly EVER done that with our children. Of course he was hardly home in the evening.

The children are in bed now so we can have some "property time"! LOVE YOU!

vinh ~ I highly recommend stroller training! You will love it! GOOD LUCK on your Reindeer 5K on Sat. :)
