Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

There was quite a commotion in front of my house this morning.  Two snow plows came to a halt as a small black SUV lost control and skit into the ditch on the opposite side of the road taking my old mail box with it.  The hood popped open as the SUV's front wheels went deep in the ditch.  My neighbors rushed out to help.   Within minutes, police, ambulance, firetruck and toll truck came to the scene.  The driver was the only person in the SUV.  They put a cervical collar on her, slid a body board underneath her and lifted her to the stretcher and onto the ambulance.  I hope she's okay.

14 miles in 2:06:46.  AP: 9:03.  Splits: 10:22, 9:47, 9:36, 9:29, 9:23, 9:18, 9:15, 9:13, 9:12, 9:10, 9:00, 8:48, 8:55, 8:53.

This is a big week with only one recovery day tomorrow (Wed).  I have a baby shower on Sat. so I may have to do the 11 MLR on Thu. , the 21 LR on Fri. the 7 GA on Sat.  Hope the weather and air quality co-operates!

Happy running everyone!!!  :)

What the miles? seriously smooth you are the endurance queen of the year 2010! SO AWESOME! Good luck with your runs, especially if you go for your long one Fri! You are going to have such a strong year!

From RAD on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 14:27:42 from 67.172.229.125

wow, crazy morning and STILL an amazing workout! Can't wait to see how this mileage comes out for you, I think you'll be breaking PR's all over the place!

From Rhett on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 18:30:45 from 216.67.211.75

Wow that is a lot of mile so soon after the half. My legs wouldn't have let me do that yesteday.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 18:58:57 from 71.219.89.82

Oh my gosh, your miles are insane!!!!

The roads were scary yesterday morning for sure, I hope the girl is okay!!! And your poor mailbox...

Hope you had a good rest day today.

Smooth, AQ miserable at the moment. I don't see it clearing. NO way running a LR indooors. I hope you get out early enough that you don't see it. I will be running 20 on Saturday. Exactly what is a GA run? Awesome run today for you!!! Wow so weird to have someone take out your mailbox in the early hours. My mother in law was in a wreck yesterday in front of Mt Mohogany elementary. She looked down at her cell phone and when she looked up she ran into the speed limit sign. Scary since it was by the school. What if it were a kid? Some people or all people should limit cell phones while driving. What was the cause of her accident? Happy Running!!!

Kathie ~ You're too funny! I'll run some miles for you if you'll do the leg lifts and spin for me! :)

Scott ~ It was a PERFECT weekend!

Davy ~ NO! I'm the one who can NEVER EVER keep up with your mileage! :)

Amber ~ THANKS!

Rachel ~ I'm experimenting w/ this training cycle...not really looking for PR...just to see how this old body does with the mileage. We'll see if it's suicide.

Rhett ~ I must not have push enough on Sat. Like I said, it was a training run?! (insert rolling eyes smiley)

Kelli ~ The mail box has not been used for years. We use the cluster mail box. I think the farmer is gonna be SOOO ticked to see his ditch "dented" and littered. Speaking of mail...I tried to email couple of the pix to you but for some reason my server did not work. I'll have to ask Jeff to help me fix it (when I can catch him, ha!)

Timp ~ THANKS!

From Smooth on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 23:04:02 from 174.23.232.65

Julie ~ I'm not sure what cause her to veer off the road which is a narrow 2-lane w/ houses on just one side.

I agree people should slow down when the road is slick and pull over to use the cell phone. I try to avoid school traffic when I run. There are 3 elementary schools within 2 miles of my house. Hope your mother-in-law is okay. Those fender bender can cost a fortune to fix.

GA = General Aerobic, standard, moderate-effort runs of up to 10 miles, slower than LT runs, faster than recovery runs.

I hear ya on the AQ. My last 18 miler up Alpine had my throat/airway burning. What to do?

From kellies on Thu, Jan 28, 2010 at 00:21:26 from 63.248.32.71

Oh no, SCARY MORNING!! Poor thing (both you for witnessing and the driver). That's enough to get the adrenaline pumping in the morning. Hope she is okay and that your mailbox makes a full recovery also!! Your miles are KILLER!! So envious! You amaze me. Keep it up smooth :)

From kellies on Thu, Jan 28, 2010 at 00:21:59 from 63.248.32.71

Oh and P.S. LOVE THE NEW PROFILE PIC!!! You Red Hot Ladies!!! SMOKIN!!
