Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Annual Fall hikes with my friends Diane and Wendy this morning.  I requested a close-by easy peasy short hike because I have a half marathon tomorrow plus my legs are still stiff and a little sore.  So we hiked on the trails in Corner Canyon to Ghost Falls, a beautiful 3 mile round trip hike.  Saw lots of bikers, hikers and trail runners.  Thought a lot about Steam8 who loves hiking and Teena who mtn bikes here a lot.  :)  Leaves are changing already.  We're going to be in for a real Fall colors treat at TOU next week.  :)

Temple in the afternoon and dinner date with the hubs.  :)

Oh my goodness...What half marathon are you running tomorrow?

You're an animal running so many races so close together.

hi Dale! It is the Spanish Fork Half. Larry is going to run the 5K, his first race ever! he's so cute, laying out his running clothes and been talking all week about "tapering" and " carb-loading". He just asked me jokingly, "do they have gu and Gatorade there for the 5K? You think I ought to take 1 gu every 1/4 mile, so 11 Gus ought to do it, right! OK, may be 1 every 1/2 mile then, so just 5 Gus, it is easier to carry just .". I am laughing so hard! :) :) :)

Oh that's too funny. I remember being like that before I ran my first 5k. I hope both of you have fun and I can't wait to read all about it. You should have Larry write up a report and you can post it on here. That would be cool.

Beautiful! I'm SO excited for Larry to race the 5K!!! You'll have to tell me all about it! Especially how many gus he ended up consuming :)

Big huge congrats to Larry for doing his first 5K - Will Larry be doing a race report. Sure wish he would. Sure wish I would have known Larry was running his first 5K yesterday, I would have been there!!!!!

Thanks Dale, RAD and TomSlick ~ I asked hubby to write a race report. He just laughed. He did tell me all about the morning and the race and how he felt. He loved it. He was very happy with seeing all my running friends and participated and shared in with the "running jargons". He is really getting into this running hobby. He does not aspire to get fast, just steady progress and see it as a healthy lifestyle.

He was very cute in describing how he didn't want to get beat by this little girl who would sprint past him and then would poop out and walked...yes Larry did beat her. But he never treated this as a race, just a daily run. He knew he could finish, just didn't want to be dead last which of course he wasn't. :) BTW, when he first started running this summer, his pace was around 13mm. He finished his first ever 5K in 33:55, not bad for a 60 with yo double heart valves replacement. I am SO PROUD of him! :) :) :)

I can't wait to read your race report :) sounds like a beautiful day! I love that you've inspired your husband to run, first 5k, that's a big deal!!!
