Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Got up at 5am to put the turkey in the oven, the roast in the crockpot....  Took a half hour break from cooking to skype w/ Eric, Marianne & Baby Emi from Detroit.  So happy that they're going to a member's home for Thanksgiving.

We have the world's best Thanksgiving feast:  turkey, roast beef, ham, stuffings (made w/ corn bread, wild rice, onions, celery, sausage, chicken broth), yam, sweet potato, potato casserole, mashed potato, freshly baked whole wheat and white dinner rolls, fresh cranberry sauce, shrimp w/ tofu & shitake mushrooms, 2 kinds of sushi, fried wonton, egg roll, 3 kinds of salad, fresh fruits (persimmons, grapes, watermelon, berries), pomergranate jello, apple pie, pumpkin pie ala mode.  No I didn't make all that food.  We have great women chefs in our extended family.  Our oldest guest Aunt Ruth, 89, came from California.  The youngest, my niece's baby Josiah, 7 months, traveled from Logan.  Everyone, all 36 of us, lingered and visited.  So happy Larissa called.  They're spending Thanksgiving in Austin.

Was going to run on the TM after our guests left...but my sons and hubby wanted me to watch a movie w/ them instead...so I did and dozed off couple of times! :)

Sounds like a GREAT DAY!!!!! Glad you took the day off from running because I can not even imagine all that is involved when Thanksgiving is at your house and you are in charge of all of that food! I am not looking forward to that, I am not a good cook!

So much fun and so much food! No wonder you dozed off!

Wow, I got hungry all over again just reading the menu! That is a lot of family, sounds like great times. Post-dinner movies are lethal, I have never made it past the intro.

It sounds like quite a feast.

Good call to skip the run and enjoy the family. I bet you put on an amazing feast.

Hooray for full tummies and naps! That is what holidays are ALL about!

Thanks all for your nice comments even when I slacked off! :)

I think I need to come finish off some of those left-overs!! Sounds SO yummy, just like a feast I'd dream of. You need a slacker day and I don't think hosting nearly 40 guests for dinner is slacking!!!
