Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Temp was 74 this morning, sunny sky.   Monday's forecast is more of the same, low in the 70s with high in the mid 90s.  Going to be a scorcher!!!  :}

Decision time:  The quads survived AF Canyon and Bryce Canyon but I think DNews might push them over the edge.  Better be safe than sorry.  So I'm going to wimp out.  Anyone running the Sogonapmit next Sat.?  The website says it's not for the feign of heart!!! :)

Oh the air-condition died yesterday!!!  STINK!!!  Well, it is 16 years old, not surprise it's throwing a fit like a teenager! :)  Gonna be costly!!! :}

Good job. Hope you enjoy your race day off.

From Kelli on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 11:35:56 from 71.219.99.3

LOVE that new picture! You are flying for real!!!

I hope you get the AC fixed today, it is gonna be hot. but the mornings this week have been really nice, I have quite enjoyed them!

I have not heard of that race, what on earth is it? Hey, you could do the 10k Monday!

From Smooth on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 11:43:31 from 67.2.89.58

Kelli ~ I have no speed in my legs. 10Ks is double the torture of 5Ks. Plus I am too cheap to pay $40 for a tempo run.

Sogonapmit is Timpanogos backward. You run the TimpHalf course in reverse the first half, from the AF High School (the finish) up to Tibble Fork (the start of the TimpHalf). You have 2.5 hours to get there before the Halfers start; then run back down to the AF HS.

From Kelli on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 11:47:09 from 71.219.99.3

OH MY! Is the Timp Half this weekend? So you would be doing a full marathon? FUN!!!

I agree on the 10k's. The only thing I hate worse is a 5k. I have never run Deseret News so I am going to give it a go. It may be for fun, we will see how I feel on Monday. I had to skip my 5k and I just have no clue where I stand right now, I have not done a race in SO long.

From Smooth on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 11:54:17 from 67.2.89.58

The TimpHalf and the Marathon is next Sat. I am just looking for a July Marathon. Not sure if my legs are up to the challenge though!

You will do FANTASTIC on the DNews 10K. I remember the year I ran it and you ran the Speedy Spaniards. This is a faster course. Just let her fly. You will have FUN!!! You run so fast that it will be over before you know it. Can't wait to hear how you do.

From Andy on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 12:43:40 from 159.212.71.17

Love the new pic. I will be at the Timp half. I'm too big of a wimp to attempt Sogonapmit this year.

From Smooth on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 12:49:19 from 67.2.89.58

Funny I just asked what half you're running! Now I know! You'll LOVE that TimpHalf course! :)

From Kathie on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 13:27:20 from 174.23.141.36

Wow that sounds killer. I think Dale had signed up for that but I am sure he is not going to run it now that he is injured. Are you really thinking of doing it?

From Smooth on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 14:35:45 from 67.2.89.58

Kathie ~ Just toying with the idea of running a marathon a month right now! But It looks more challenging than PCM! so I don't know! Might be playing with fire!

How's your shin feeling today?

From Annie on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 15:14:03 from 71.37.98.223

I laughed when I read about the Timp Marathon. I didn't get why they named it such a weird name until I realized that it was timpanogos backwards! That one to me sounds like it is strictly for crazy people!

From RAD on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 16:12:04 from 76.27.16.189

Well, being totally selfish I'm glad I get to run with you tomorrow! :) I would LOVE to do that sogonapmit, but I know my legs would crash and burn hard. I'm not you...I can't do a marathon a month! It WILL kill me. Perfect run this morning. See you tomorrow?

From Chad on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 16:50:14 from 71.199.13.143

UP to Tibble Fork and back? That's extreme. I worship the ground you walk on.

From Kimmy on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 20:18:02 from 75.169.120.226

Smooth...what I love best about your photo is you look so happy and refreshed and the guy next to you looks like he is about to die.....I wish I could read his mind while he is watching you jump around :)

From Nancy on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 22:07:08 from 76.23.21.118

You are really super woman running a marathon a month. Pretty soon you will be running one a week!!!

From DaleG on Sat, Jul 23, 2011 at 03:36:32 from 152.216.11.5

Yep, I was signed up for the Sogonapmit Marathon, but the race director was awesome and transfered my entry to next year. I don't even think I could run a 5k right now. Oh well. At least I'm getting a lot done around the house

From DaleG on Sat, Jul 23, 2011 at 03:43:26 from 152.216.11.5

Maybe you could run the Morgan Valley Marathon or Half on July 30th. It's a first year marathon. It starts and ends at the Morgan County Fairgrounds. 5:30 AM start.

From Smooth on Mon, Jul 25, 2011 at 13:50:34 from 67.2.122.145

Annie ~ Yes, I believe Sogonapmit is strictly for crazy people! :)

RAD ~ Thanks to your *selfishness*, I had a very enjoyable run with you and Toby! :)

Chad ~ You are too funny! I said I was toying with the idea of running it! I haven't decided yet...so hold your *worship* horse! :)

Kimmy ~ The pic and the 3-4 pix right after shows that I *chicked* that guy. I'm pretty sure he was either in too much self-absorbness or pain to even notice my obnoxious jumping around and chicking him! :)

Nancy ~ You are too nice! Running a marathon a month isn't that impressive. I am NOT racing them. I'm running them as lo0o0ong runs (with benefits)! The pro and the truly great runners don't do that. They train hard and focus on running their best in 1 to 2 marathons a year. That is the sensible way. But hey, I'm old and addicted to running so got nothing to loose! :)

Dale ~ I looked at the Morgan one. It is very expensive and quite a long drive for me. Sogonapmit is within 15 min. from my house. We have couple of friends coming to stay at our house this Fri to next Tue so I need to stay close to home. With the Sogonapmit I'll be able to drive myself to the start and be done before they get out of bed. I just won't be able to sleep Fri night and be a dead tired host on Sat. :)
