Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

The cold north wind didn't help with my terrible head cold.  4 easy miles with Karen and Wendy just to chat about Boston.

Hubby and I talked about what happened in Boston exactly a week ago, from celebration to devastation, commaradery to chaos, dream to drudgery, triumph to tragedy. Larissa called. Eric called. I think we all are still dealing with post traumatic syndrome. Sigh! We mostly felt very sad and bad for those who lost lifes and limbs and their families whose lives are forever scared! Continual prayers for their healing, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Today is our 35th Anniversary! Hubby and I nearly forgot! After picking up his suits and returning my dress, we went to a movie and dinner.

Happy Anniversary! I can imagine it will take quite some time to process and deal with all the traumatic stress you went through. Thank you for posting your beautiful family photos. Your smiles are contagious. :-)

I have been waiting to read what you and Rachel have written regarding Boston. I can't even tell you how I prayed you and Larry were safe. I heard Eric on KSL later and concluded you and Larry were safe. I can't begin to imagine what this year's experience must mean to you and your family --you, being the queen and guardian angel of the Boston Marathon all these many years. I love and miss you so much, and I will forever be grateful for the moment I really knew you, Larry Rachel, Michelle and Catherine were safe. I truly hope you will heal, that Eric will heal and gain wisdom from what he experienced that day. All who have been at your side for a Boston Marathon (me especially) are so very grateful for your safe return home.

Glad you are safe and sound, and happy anniversary. (My wife and I celebrated our 35th on March 22, funny coincidence.) Godspeed on all of your preparations for a much more important adventure.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and kind thoughts and concern.

Luz ~ you were missed at Boston this year. I thought of you at the Emperor's Garden Sat. dinner, at the "It all Begins Here Hopkinton" sign. Along the course especially at Wellsley. I have missed you so so so much. Thank you for your text and for thinking of us.

Flat ~ happy belated anniversary to you. Boston has been our anniversary celebration for the last 6 years. In fact, we celebrated our anniversary there in 2004, before I was a runner. I guess we get to celebrate the next three anniversaries in Sydney Australia! :) :) :)

Dale and Slick ~ THANK YOU!!! :)
