Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Think I'm coming down with something, sore throat, swollen glands, achy neck, fatigue.  The thunderstorm kept me up.  Ran 7 miles down and up the rail trail with Carolyn and Karen.  I probably would have bagged the run if weren't for them!  My legs were lead, felt crummy, hacked up copious gunk!  So disgusted with myself! :(

Hubby had to sweep the rain water off the floor of the new addition (which has no roof yet) a second time this morning.  Yesterday he had to sweep the rain water in between his meetings.  He put the white tarp (which was supposed to keep the floor dry but didn't) on the lawn to dry, big mistake.  His beautiful lawn was fried, it now has a 50'x50' brown patch, so sad!  He has such a good attitude...never gets mad!  It is now past 10am and I haven't seen or heard from our contractor!  He was on vacation last week while his helper did the demolition alone Tue-Thu.  It was a good thing I told him to not take out the outside-wall, as it is, the hole they made on the existing roof in order to join the new addition's walls have caused rain leakage inside.  So, this has been 4 weeks and we've seen more *destruction* than construction, very frustrating!

ugghh! Hate it when life throws curve balls at us all at once. Now eat well and rest up, we've got PC staring us down! I don't know what I'll do if you don't run it!! NO sickness.

Good luck with the construction, maybe you need to take a vacation :)

Didn't you say your son had strep? You should get tested today so you can get on antibiotics ASAP.

Oh man, that sounds so stressful in so many ways! Sorry you are feeling sick on top of it all. Try and get some rest. That's awesome your hubby doesn't get mad even with all that going on! It is a little funny to think of that huge spot on your lawn (well, it's only funny if it greens up again!!) Hang in there! :)

Oh SSF, I am so sorry. What a mess. I agree with Andy. Love you. Hang in there, Baby. Your fitness room will be worth all the headache.

Hope things are improving. Can't say I would have a smile if I had to sweep water out of my house twice. Good run anyway, with a sore throat -- hopefully in a few days things will be looking up at your house.

There is definitely some nasty stuff going around, I hope you're feeling better :)

You're tough! If I was feeling crappy I would have stayed in bed :)

Contractors are the WORST! I hate painting with broad brushes, but when it comes to them I don't hesitate. We have had waaay too many bad experiences. Good luck!

I hope you get feeling better soon. Sorry about the rain on your remodel. I know exactly how it feels.

VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! I am sorry Smooth, I hope it does not turn in to Rhett and Doone part II!

Love the new picture of the grandbaby! So cute.

Haha! That is always how it goes! It takes forever for things to get done. It never happens quite like you think it is going to! OH, your newest grandbaby is beautiful! How luck for you grandma!

You must be sick because you haven't posted in a couple of days. I hope you are on the mend now!

THANK YOU everyone for your kind words of encouragement and concern. You are the best!!! :)

I am the luckiest girl to have such great friends as you and your wonderful support! :)

This has been a crazy week! I called the doc on Tue and was seen by a PA student (the doc was on vacation). Why is everyone on vacation? Anyway, still have sore throat, icky sputum, cough but otherwise ok. I am still planning on running PCM on Sat. It will be SLOW and hopefully not too painful! :)
