Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

KT taped right knee before heading out.  Temp was in the mid 20s, calm, partly sunny.  Perfect running weather.

Ran w/ Karen (Sky) down Center St to Cedar Hollow to AF Jr High to bridge by the Temple (mile 6).  Gu'd and turned back same route since Karen only needed 12 miles.  Stopped at AFJH for potty break.  Ran up Center St strong.  Mile 12 was mostly uphill and was able to keep it at mp.  After dropping Karen home ran 5 more by myself at mp.

When I got home, Emi and her mommy were just getting out for a walk.  So I walked with them around the block.  We checked out the chickens and rooster, big rocks and pebbles, neighbors' dogs and cats.  Emi likes to run 3 sidewalk sections at a time.  We'd say: "get set, ready", she'd bend down to touch her toes then up to run on "GO!".  She'd call out "Nana!" whenever I run behind her as if to tell me to keep up....SO CUTE!!!!  April 18, the day I run Boston will be Emi's 2nd birthday and her mommy's 28th! :) :) :) :)

Afternoon:  Iced the knee.  Shopping = lotsa walking.

Evening:  Stretch & foam roll while watching Lost!

I almost called you and Kathie last night to see if you would run with me.

Please baby your legs this evening and tomorrow.

Paul ~ As always you are right! I don't need to peak until may be SG! Ha!

How's your archilles? Are you walking normal yet?

Luz ~ I was thinking about you running in the Provo Canyon this morning and thought about that icy Bridal Veil section. I really miss running with you on the trails! Can't wait to do it before you head to D.C. or later when Cath move back to Utah! :)

You were one tuff winter warriorrette! Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Kathie ~ You will have so much fun running with Clark. Those toddlers don't go from crawling to walking, they LOVE to run! Pure joy!

SSF ~ You should have called! The only time I can keep up with you is when you are running super easy and way slow!

I am icing my knee right this minute. Will stretch and roll this evening!

I love you too! Have a GREAT weekend!

What a wonderful birthday present to the two of them to run a race (and I know you'll dedicate at least a mile of it to them!). I love sweet Emi telling you to hurry up, you have beautiful kids and grandkids! Excellent work on the run today, onward and upward and hopefully no more news from the knee.

It sounds like you got a great run in like usual. You make running sound so easy and fun. I can tell you love being a grandma.

It's the dog days of running/training before Boston. Get focused in on your training and run smart......no time for needless injuries. PPPPPP !

Nice run, and I love little Emi and her running, that is so cute!

MP for 17+ miles? Amazing. Glad to see you back in the saddle and logging great runs.

From Smooth on Mon, Feb 14, 2011 at 16:36:44 from 67.2.108.71

Rachel ~ Yes, onward and upward, the only way to go!!! :) So excited for your birthday trek tomorrow! When you're that young, you can dedicate each mile to each year of your life! When you get to be my age, you'd dedicate a mile for each of your posterity! :) ;)

Nancy ~ You bet I LOVE being a grandma! From the looks of it, you do too!:) And you have a lot more grandkids than me...more to love! :)

Slick ~ I'm trying to be wise like you no needless injuries...here's to staying true to the PPPPP!!! :)

Kelli ~ KT tape is good stuff! Can I get a discount if you're the stock holder? So excited for your Buffalo 50 miler! How's that tush doing today?

Mark ~ NO, I didn't run 17+ miles at mp. That would be suicide! :) I did the last 6.25 at mp. Here's to staying ON the saddle...no more falling off the wagon! :)

From Kelli on Mon, Feb 14, 2011 at 22:51:26 from 71.219.84.215

We all need a serious discount just for advertising!!!

The butt is getting better. The hematoma does not seem to be changing in size, but all of the other swelling is gone and the bruising is about 75% gone. It is tolerable----I WILL TAKE IT!
