Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

I hope the extra love from grandma helps baby Jett come home soon! If you need someone to check on yours boys left here, let me know...I'll whip 'em right into shape for you :) (it would be like in the movies when the big German 'Helga' comes in and takes over the 'nursing' :)).

Rest well, your body could probably use some recovery!

From The Quiet Pirate on Fri, Jan 07, 2011 at 10:21:17 from 152.26.59.252

Have a wonderful trip! Keep us posted on Baby Jett's progress- we'll be sending good thoughts his way.

I hope you are having a wonderful time in Houston with your daughter and the new baby!! I love Houston. Eat some Pappasito's for me. 59 Diner is awesome as well. Also, Goode Co. BBQ - seriously yummo. How is Larry's ankle doing?

From Burt on Sat, Jan 08, 2011 at 15:20:27 from 72.223.84.236

nice redecorating on your blog page.

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 11:55:47 from 67.232.119.27

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes and checking in on me and mine!

Flat ~ Winter is the best time to visit your neck of the woods! Loving the perfect temp so far...it's raining now though on Sunday...perfect for rest day!

Rachel ~ Hahahah! For some reason I cannot imagine you attempting to behave like big German Helga! Although my boys back home do need some "gestapo" to keep them in line.

However, your kids are about the same age as Larissa's kids. I can surely use your help managing them here. AND NO REST for the wicked! :)

QP ~ Baby Jett is doing great, he weighs 6 lbs now. My daughter is so good at keeping him healthy and happy! She's a very patient mommy, unlike me!

Doone ~ Those restaurants sound GREAT!!! Doubt we'll be going out to eat with a new baby and 3 very rambunctious kids. I will have to remember that next time I visit Houston.

Larry's ankle is doing much much better. He's walking sans cane. His eating is going to pot though. He ate at Chuck-A-Rama yesterday. He doesn't ever cook! Poor guy!

Burt ~ :) Going to re-redecorate soon! Stay tune!

SSF ~ You like shopping, just not for clothes. I hate shopping, period! Wish I could go with you. I need a dress for Jeff's wedding! You can check on-line at Ann Taylors and Talbots!

Miss you tons! LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL

Smooth~

What do you mean I like shopping? I hate shopping PERIOD!!!! The only stores I can stand are Costco and Target ... and that is if I am lucky!

Although, I don't mind nearly as much if you are with me. :) :) :)

I miss you.

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 12:32:53 from 67.232.119.27

SSF ~ We are TRULY SSF when it comes to shopping! :):):):) Missing you like crazy!

From Teena Marie on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 12:37:56 from 67.2.90.52

When do you come home?

Sophia and I are sick! :(

I am pretty sure we have a small case of food poisoning. It came on with brutal intesity out of no where about 4 hours after we had both eaten the same thing at a baptismal luncheon. :(

We are starting to feel better though.

How is everyone?

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 12:43:46 from 67.232.119.27

I come home late on the 19th (Wed. night). Everyone is doing great. I am very pleased Larissa is recovering so well and the baby is thriving! :)

So so so so sorry you and Sophie got poisoned by some *unholy* luncheon! :(

Drink plenty to avoid dehydration. Have a restful Sunday! Do classes start up tomorrow?

From Teena Marie on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 12:51:45 from 67.2.90.52

Yep, classes start tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it, but it is part of the process! :)

My right knee has been bothering me a bit as well. What should we do??

(I am so glad that everyone is doing so well ... you must be magic!!!)

From Smooth on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 12:57:54 from 67.232.119.27

What's wrong w/ your right knee?

Mine feels like the "tendons" are going to break every time I flex or extend the dang knee. Plus it hurts so bad when I kneel...can't get up after sitting on the floor playing w/ the grandkids. man, do I feel old!

I think we need to tape them up good and not run so much! You think?

From Teena Marie on Sun, Jan 09, 2011 at 13:15:27 from 67.2.90.52

I think mine is just the effects of compensation.

I am going to take January much easier than I did December though. Then perhaps pick it back up in February.

Are you keeping up on your yoga?

We can definitely tape you and work on them a bit when you get home. :)

From Smooth on Mon, Jan 10, 2011 at 21:37:58 from 67.232.119.27

SSF ~ Having done yoga forever! Just talked it over w/ Eric. We determined that I have patella tentonitis from overuse. Treatment is rest and ice. DANG!
