Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Cleaned house all day yesterday so didn't run a single step; but got lots of weight training done in the form of lifting boxes and furnitures.  :)  Arms and wrists are sore this morning.  Perfect running weather,  high 40's, calm, sunny blue sky.  Plan was to run 6-8, could have run 10-12 if I had the time, too much to do today.

9.5 mi in 1:25:05.  AP: 8:57  Splits: 9:48, 9:28, 8:46, 9:00, 8:59, 8:51, 8:41, 8:50, 8:29, 8:24.

Hope y'all enjoying a beautiful day!!!

That weather sounds lovely! I really need to get off my bottom and get some deep housecleaning done in the much-neglected "dump-all" collection corners that seem to spring up from time to time.

After yesterday's BLIZZARD I wasn't sure the sun would remember how to shine :)

From Smooth on Tue, May 25, 2010 at 15:55:05 from 174.23.172.155

KP, April ~ My house is a disaster. I have 3 grown boys living here constantly making messes. Anyway, we're expecting married children and grandchildren coming home this week and for part of the summer so had to rearrange some rooms and major dejunk! Yep, I have a dump-all room downstairs that used to be an office, now it's storage (aka dumping ground) for the kids who have moved away,,,sigh!

From Smooth on Tue, May 25, 2010 at 15:57:21 from 174.23.172.155

Kristi ~ I hear ya. We had several inches of snow that melted rather quickly yesterday afternoon and flooded the basement through the outside stair well. I wish the sun would shine in that area to dry the carpet up...no such luck!

Great miles today...I spent all day yesterday cleaning to, for a friend who is moving. It was really sad to spend three hours cleaning house and the walk into my messy one!

From Smooth on Tue, May 25, 2010 at 16:42:41 from 174.23.172.155

Kathie ~ That was so nice of you to help your friend. I get to do that sometimes this week too, just waiting for her to call me.

Smooth- Hope you're doing well. Good to see you taking advantage of this gorgeous day. Have a great week.

THANKS Scott! I think I'm recovering well from Ogden! How are you doing? Going over to your blog now!

I am going to send directions to Havasu soon so you can come help us clean out our house. Sorry about the flood and the snow. The funny thing is that it will probably turn to hot summer overnight and spring will have disappeared this year. Odd but true.

That does sound like perfect running weather! A nice reward for your "crosstraining" yesterday. I hope you get a nice visit with your kids coming home.

Very good run, and glad your weather improved. My son sent me a picture of yesterday's odd snowstorm, I have been showing it to everybody.

From Teena Marie on Wed, May 26, 2010 at 00:45:40 from 174.52.45.85

Hi!!!

Why do I feel like I haven't talked to you forever?

Did you get everything done?

Your run looks top notch!!! And btw, I didn't run 12 miles yesterday like you think I did ... you included my crosstraining silly! :)

Anyway ... I am so excited that you are going to have your grandchildren with you. I know how much my kids love you --I can only imagine how you spoil them!!! Oh yeah, that reminds me, I forgot to tell you something. On Friday evening Rylee, Payton, and Sophia had friend stuff going on, so Ry and I took the twins to see Shrek 4. Anyway, when we were leaving the theatre Oliver spotted a white acura, all of a sudden he got so excited and said, "Mom, look over there ... is it Smooth??? Is it Mom???? Is it Smooth???" It took a while to convince him that it wasn't you ... he was so disappointed. :(

Love and miss you!! Have fun with your little ones. :)

Great run Smooth. I hope you guys get some nice weather for a while. After this long winter, you guys deserve it. No mention of shin pain. I hope that means it is all gone.

The last time I had to move my fingernails and wrists got so sore! That is real WORK! Not like running, running's fun compared to that stuff. I hope you'll have a fun summer with your kids & grandkids. YOu coming to Utah Valley?

THANKS everyone for checking in on me and for your kind words.

I'm the luckiest mom/grandma in the world. So excited to have my children/grandchildren home. It's a GOOD kinda busy. It's nice to have a full house again. It will be empty soon enough when everyone's off to college this Fall!
