Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

The run started out slow and sluggish.  Good thing I had Wendy's and Karen's company.  After dropping them off,  I ran by myself thinking I could go progressively faster.  The weather was cool.  There were lots of runners out.  Kept running into folks whom I haven't seen for a long time and wanted to visit.  So not much of a run; but all good in people building!

10.5 in 1:44:58.   Was a little thirsty after the run.

6 circuits of Pfitz's core stability exercises.

Going to commit to Pocatello Marathon and Goblin Valley 50K this week.  :/

You, young lady, are insane!!!!! :) :) :)

Very nice, SSF.

I don't know how you and Kelli run so many miles each day. I just don't have it in me.

Love you so so so much. :)

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 15:44:11 from 174.23.203.161

SSF ~ Remember how I was feeling fatigue and down all the time when I started the 70/18 program? The body adapts, GRADUALLY! Anyhow, I am not half as insane as Kelli. She is the mileage queen. My old body has its limit! I will not go over 70mpw!

LOVE YOU and miss you already! Do you kids want to do $2 Tues at Thanksgiving Point?

From Teena Marie on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 15:46:33 from 174.52.45.85

What is $2 Tuesday?

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 15:50:42 from 174.23.203.161

You only pay $2/person admission for any or all of the venues at Thanksgiving Point on Tue.during the month of Aug. A real bargain!

Have your kids been to Thanksgiving Point before? I thought it might be fun to take your family there. My treat!

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 16:12:52 from 174.23.203.161

Oops, I need to fix that. Now way I'd run a 6 AP! :D

Yep, on the website it says it includes the Ancient history Museum.

Hooray for day shift!

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 09, 2010 at 16:23:40 from 174.23.203.161

OK, I just checked Thanksgiving Point's website. It says $2 for EACH venue. The dinosaur museum is the most popular with kids!

SSF~

Yes, my kids have been to and love Thanksgiving Point. In fact, the three youngest were part of a toddlers movie that was partially filmed there. I should see if we have an extra copy and get it to you ... your grandchildren might like it.

Good run for a Monday morning. I have had an eye on Goblin Valley but don't think I'll do it this year. My brother-in-law does it and says it is a lot of fun.
