Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!! 

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Playing with grandkids is so fun but can be exhausting.  I'm glad I got sick at the end of the visit so it didn't spoil the fun.  So good to be home, sleep in my own bed.  I slept for NINE hours last night.  I LOVE my 24" mattress.  I am feeling much better. 

I didn't run till 10am because my construction friend came to finish the walk-in closet shelves and started on the cook-top-hood-flue-cabinet-cover in the kitchen.  Had to wash the hood and clean up the kitchen counter.  Had just enough time to run before the visiting teachers came.

It was a slow and sluggish run much like last week in Houston.  Consider I didn't eat a thing yesterday, with the stomach flu over the weekend, I did fairly well for the run.  Funny thing was after the first mile I started to feel pain in the pubis.  Was that sympathy pain for Teena?  Weird!!! 

6.5 miles in 1:02 Splits: 10:24, 9:51, 9:17, 9:28, 9:14, 9:11, last 0.5 mi at 9:02.  Average pace: 9:32  Arthritis: 6  HR:  152

Glad to hear you made it home and getting back into your normal groove. Nothing is like sleeping in your own bed that is for sure. Do you ever slow down?? Keep it up.

Maybe you are 9 months pregnant when it hurts something fierce!! I saw you said that on Teena's blog and I totally remember that pain when I was pregnant, especially with number 5!

I hope you are back to 100% soon. And I am SO jealous about the sleep! I got in bed at 8:00 last night, but could not fall asleep. I think I maybe got 4 hours last night. As Teena would say, STINK!!!

Have a good evening! You are gonna have to have a party so we can see all of the home improvements! OR just take pictures.

(Okay ... here's something weird ... when my pain first started, right after I stopped after running through the finish line at Snow Canyon, it totally reminded me of being pregnant. But then it got so much worse on Tuesday. But if it started that way ... do you think it could just be ligaments/tendons/nerves? Oh please, please, please.)

Teena -- The pain comes from where the ligaments and tendons join at the bones. I seriously think that it's an overuse issue. Did you know that inflammation is actually a normal healing process? It's a symptom, like fever is when sick.

Kelli & Teena -- I'm sitting here waiting for the R.C. Willey service guy to call. He's supposed to come fix the bed that they didn't put together right. I love my house and my wonderful hubby the way it is. Don't ask me why hubby wants to remodel or upgrade anything. I get stressed out when repairman, construction guy, or any guy coming inside my house to do stuff. The waiting is the worst part...a waste of time and highly increase my stress level.

I love party. I will even do the food. It's the cleaning of my house before the party that I DISLIKE. And NO, I won't let anyone clean my house or see what a giant mess it is.

Boy, do I sound crumpy or what!!! I will be better once I get my run done. Wish the R.C. Willey guy would hurry and call. I already called Customer Service with no help.
