Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

HALL STINKS!

Can't believe I'm gonna type this:  Utes deserves the Championship, the BCS. Cougs beat themselves.  STINKS!  YUCK!  GAG!  Ok, got it out of my system.  I gave up running VOF marathon to go to Rice Eccles Stadium for this game?!  The Cougs blew it.  But the food was good, saw Patty and LaVell Edwards and Robert Braugh (Teena's friend?)

John, Wendy and I got to the Lehi JRP around 8 am.  We were the only ones there.  We went south towards Utah Lake.  It was a bit cold.  I wore the Slam l/s shirt, CWX tights, light running jacket and gloves.  We kept a steady conversation pace. There was a group of boy scout camping at the Willow Park.  We turned around at mile 5.12 just past the lake outlet/pump house by a park with a playground.  I'm guessing the trail probably goes further south towards Saratoga Springs.  We made a pit stop at the Model Airplane Park's port-a-potty.  We saw a motor powered hang-glider, lotsa black angus cattle, a 3 point deer, a hawk, lotsa ducks, couple of duck hunters.  The boy scouts were now cycling their 15 miler towards us.  The parking lot was now full.  Wondered if Leslie and Maurine or anyone else came and ran north sine we didn't see anyone else on the trail.  Was a good run.  Can't wait to run it again next week with Kelli and others.

Average pace 10:00, fastest at 8:37.  Legs felt better today.  Could probably run further but had to get home early.

Smooth!!

You are so awesome!! Nice run this morning. I'm always amazed at just how much you can get done in one day.

Yes, Hall blew it ... 4 picks and a fumble!! Unbelievable!! Was very happy for my Utes!! (I can call them mine, right? I'm just a very old student.)

Yes, Rob Brough is my friend. Was Holly with him? Were you able to talk to them at all?

Glad you made it home safe and sound.

Love you!! Glad your legs are feeling better!

I didn't talk to Rob. Yes I believe Holly was with him. The Edwards must have been the Brough's guests tonight. Larry said hello to them. They were in a separate suite. We rode the elevator together and made the quick exit out of the stadium in humiliation.

Steven and I were the only Cougar fans in our suite. I was the lone fan standing, singing and clapping for the Cougars. I will get over it.

The Utes played awesome, did everything right and deserved the Conference title. Can't wait to root for them at the Sugar Bowl (I assume that's where they most likely play).

You are so cute!!

Guess what I am eating right now?? A chocolate marshmellow malt!!! I haven't had a shake or a malt for so stinkin' long!! Thought tonight would be a good night to splurge. Delicious!!

From Smooth on Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 23:51:25

YUM!!! YES, you celebrate, girl. I had 3 cups of hot chocolate at the game (I was freezing) I ate too much goodies to count, not to mention a huge pre-game meal and diet coke. Right now Larry and I are sharing a sweet Asian pear we brought from Houston, no splurging for me.

Don't be so hard on the Cougs. The Ute defense may have had something to do with their troubles. Sounds like you had a great run today.

From Kimmy on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 12:29:19

Smooth....You had me worried for a minute. My last name is "Hall", I am glad you clarified which Hall you were talking about.

Good run...sounds like a wonderful morning run. I ran around spanish Fork, not too many people out. Had the trail all to myself until I was on my way home, then I saw 1 person.

From Smooth on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 17:10:08

Andy...The Ute defense stepped up. Brian Johnson did his homework which Max Hall apparently didn't. Six turnovers in the most important game of the year is inexcusable and unacceptable. I know it's just a game and it isn't the winning or loosing that matters to me. It is in the preparation, the efforts and execution. The Utes were clearly the winner in all counts.

Kimmy -- You're in my "hall" of fame always...never a stinker no matter what you do. I love you. Glad you got in a nice trail run too. When are you going to blog your runs so we can oohs and aahs over you?

From Kelli on Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 20:45:30

Glad you liked the trail!! It is nice and flat on that side, and lots of porta potty stops!

We saw scouts camping at that campground, too! BRRRR.

Didn't watch the game so no comment aside from my 10 year old told me it was all Hall's fault today. I did not know what that meant, but there ya go!

From JeffC on Mon, Nov 24, 2008 at 11:07:28

WOW!! I'm sure Hall is a really good mormon boy :) I don't root for either team but I kinda wanted to see the Utes win because of the whole BCS thing. I just love to see some of these so called smaller schools bust up the BCS party. I just wish Boise State could crash the party too.
