Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Went to bed very very late.  Slept in till 7:30 am.  Ate a quick breakfast and hit the stores with hubby and two sons.  Looked at some sporting equipments.  The boys got some jeans and shirts.  In the afternoon I went grocery shopping and bought stuff for my missionary son in Brazil.  Didn't run a single step.  Will do some core workouts.  Look forward to running on the trail with some bloggers tomorrow morning.

Smooth,

Looks like you and me are on the exact same schedule (other than I don't get to go running with a bunch of friends for a bunch of mile tomorrow).

I love you!

Work that core baby!!

Teena,

I wish wish so so so bad you could come run with us in Lehi tomorrow. Believe me, you are greatly missed. Praying for your speedy recovery. YES, keep working on the core. BTW, I saw your Snow Canyon Zazoosh pictures. You already have great abs. I swear you looked just like Deena Kastor, you looked so SPEEDY. I hope you ordered those pictures. GREAT pics. LOVE YOU!!!

Smooth have a great time running tomorrow. So are you sending Christmas stuff to your son in Brazil? Does everthing make it to him usually? I used to love getting packages from home when I was on my mission.

From Smooth on Sat, Nov 29, 2008 at 00:09:11

Rhett - I sent one package three months ago to him. He never got it. I think it's because I was so stupid. I wrote down "camera" on the custom declaration form. My hubby said: "You did what? You might as well write STEAL ME." Well, I want to be honest. Needless to say Bryan never received the camera. I'm sending it again to him. This time I'm "hiding" it in with bunch of goodies. I hope he gets it. Poor guy, he hasn't taken any pictures. He's been out for 22 weeks.

Where did you serve your mission?

Smooth,

I HATE my Snow Canyon pictures (in fact, I tried desperately to figure out a way to delete them on the computer so that no one could see them). I hate for people to see my stomach but I got so stinkin' hot!! And one of the pictures makes me look like I have rolls and rolls of fat ... I don't know what kind of weird thing I was doing with my posture. STINK ... how embarrassing. I was praying that nobody would see them ... STINK STINK STINK!! (Atleast seeing a picture like that will make me think twice before taking off my layers next time during a race ... even if I am hot.) LLL

Teena -- What are you talking about? Well, it was hot, but, YOU WERE HOT!!! Seriously, you looked like one of those elite women. The last pic where you hadn't shed the shirt yet, your profile looked just like the embossed running girl on my Spectrum plaque, very speedy. That's my favorite. PLUS you looked like you were having so much fun.

That's the only one I semi-like. I'll have to remember to look down at my watch whenever I run past the cameras!! :)

Kelli -- THANKS for organizing this run and running with me. You did awesome even with painful knees. Sorry I took off down those hills. I hope you and the girls didn't think I was trying to ditch you. No, no speed today...just glad to get in a few miles at mp.

Teena -- It was a fun day with friends and families. Sorry for the late post. LLL
