Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Baby Jojo wouldn't go to sleep 'till past midnight and was up at 4:30.  I could have gone running by 5:30.  Anyhow, got to JRP at 8.  Ran w/ John, Karen and Wendy.  They only wanted 8 so they turned back at mile 4 and I continued on by myself.  Temp was nice, cloudy.  It did get breezy running northward the last 3 miles.  Saw lots of birds, a few hunters, one loose dog, the usual cows and a few walkers.  The river is frozen solid.  Wish the sun would peek out.  I'm a sunshine kinda girl...do NOT like deary days!  I need to move to Hawaii or San Diego! :)

The trail is closed 0.5 mile from the parking.  Ran around Centennial Park by the trail closure, then turned back for 13 miles.  Could have gone farther if there was someone to run with, O well!  Felt good to have completed 80 miles this week, my highest mileage ever!  :)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Nice miles lady! My highest ever is only 60!!

I'm bummed I missed the run today. I looked for you as I drove over the JRP after Willow park (on my way home from LC). Left my best wishes for a good run there for you, hope you felt the boost as you went through!

80 miles in one week???!!! Yowsa!!!

I don't know how you even find the time to run that many miles with how busy you are. Incredible!

You make it seem so easy. :)

Havasu is much cheaper than Hawaii or San Diego and we probably have more sunny days than them. You're welcome to visit any time.

Very good running week. As to everything you saw, I think the birds and the walkers are OK, not sure about the others. Hope you get some sunshine soon.

Nice job on the 80 mile week. Wow!

From Kathie on Mon, Dec 06, 2010 at 13:48:59 from 63.248.105.188

I want some sunshine too, just not the heat that goes with it. I love to run in the cold.

Congrats on a killer 80 mile week!

Fly ~ Thanks! :)

Maynard ~ Sure missed ya! I'll take a raincheck. Hopefully I'll see you, Haley & Trevor next Fri. You must been so excited! :)

Rachel ~ I'm glad you had a great workout with Bec at the LC. I was thinking about you and your baptism assignment. Thanks for sending the positive vibes. What time did you drive thru that area? I was actually getting spooked by one lone man sitting in his car by the remote airplane park. When I made it to the Pioneer Crossing bridge the passing automobiles overhead helped calm my nerves.

Julie ~ I seriously don't know how you do it, work full time, long day shifts, busy active family and find the time at odd hours to run solo. Not to mention you are super fast! You are my inspiration. I still treasure in my heart and memory that time you came to run w/ me on the JRP earlier this year. You're the best!

JD ~ THANKS! :)

SSF ~ You always put a huge smile on my face! :D THANKS for the accolades...I really don't deserve that! I miss you sooo much! GOOD LUCK w/ end of the semester stuff! LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL

Dale ~ I think 90% of running is mental; the other 50% is physical! :) Thanks for the nice comment!

Rhett ~ I'd love to come visit...only in the winter though! :) How's your drop dead gorgeous Doone doing? Sure miss her tons!

Flat ~ You took the thoughts right out of my mind at the time when I saw the hunters I was a little worried. I had heard shots fired several times earlier. The loose black lab that came out of nowhere was as big as me; thankfully he only nudged me and turned around when the owner called: "Tucker, you bad dog, get back here!"

Tom ~ Thanks! Kim is lucky to have you to run with. I'd give anything in the world to have my hubby run w/ me. He would if he could!

Kathie ~ I hear ya! No complaining about the nice cool weather we're having the last few days!

From Jon A on Mon, Dec 06, 2010 at 18:11:04 from 67.214.249.195

Nice run sunshine girl. Good to know the North part of the trail is still under construction. Congratulations on the high mile week!

From Smooth on Mon, Dec 06, 2010 at 18:53:13 from 67.2.111.170

Hi there Jon! So good to hear from you! How are you doing? How's Kelly's foot?

The 2100 North bridge is gonna take awhile to finish may be 'till next Fall. There is a way around that construction though.

BTW, we are practicing the Christmas numbers like crazy. My choir really likes Kelly's music! Wish she was my pianist or director for that matter! :)
