Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

How are your legs?

From Smooth on Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 16:31:51 from 67.2.69.151

Can't say they are better. We ran very very slow today. I think our AP was 10:43. I would not have run so much if it weren't for Karen's company.

How was the dentist visit? Missing you already!

From Teena Marie on Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 16:35:59 from 67.2.89.224

The dentist was the dentist, blah! I still don't understand how the can charge roughly $900.00 for one hour of work. DANG!!!

Be nice to your legs this week.

I miss you, too.

Did you get my email regarding a chumps luncheon next week?

From Smooth on Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 16:38:24 from 67.2.69.151

The nerve those dentists, they charge even more to inflict pain! Now you know why I haven't seen one in 3 years! :) The boys have NO cavities then?

No I haven't checked my emails. Doing it now!

From Rhett on Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 16:42:53 from 74.41.249.102

Very fun, I bet Karen really needed the run to get her excitement energy controlled.

From Smooth on Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 16:53:29 from 67.2.69.151

Rhett ~ Yep, she texted me last night. She hardly slept a wink! Then she sent her hubby to the grocery store for food while she went running with me! :) Her boy is on the BYU football team so they are excited for him to watch the Bowl game this Sat. The dad's got all the munchies that he's missed the last 2 years. :) We are so proud of him. Larry will go release him tonight after our attendance of the MoTab Christmas concert. Can't wait!

Nice run. You mention anything about the cold so must have been having such a nice time visiting that you didn't realize how cold it was.

From Kathie on Fri, Dec 17, 2010 at 10:53:20 from 63.248.105.188

great run...when and where are you going Saturday?

From Smooth on Fri, Dec 17, 2010 at 12:48:39 from 67.2.69.151

Nancy ~ I only noticed the brrrr factor at the start when I was running to Karen's house. Yep, you're right! Friendship warms the heart in more ways than one! :D

Kathie ~ I am going to run in Lehi around 8:30ish. RAD is coming. Do you want to forgo the 5am Bountiful hills and join us? I want to hear all about your Japan trip!

From Kathie on Fri, Dec 17, 2010 at 13:08:26 from 63.248.105.188

James flight just got canceled and I may be picking him up from the airport in the morning...plans are up in the air so I guess I will run around here

From Smooth on Fri, Dec 17, 2010 at 13:14:43 from 67.2.69.151

Hooray for James coming home! Too bad his flight got canceled! He isn't going back 'till after New Year's, right?

We'll have to catch you next time!
