Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

It's "Grandparent Treats Day" at Jade's school this morning.  Gotta love the Texans' hospitality.  When they found out we came from Utah; they jokingly asked us to take the COLD weather back with us!  Yep, it snowed and the temp was in the low 30's.  Lex thought it's Christmas!  The snow never made it to the ground.  People covered their outside plants, bushes with white sheets.  They were heeding the weatherman's advice.  Wonder what the locals were thinking as I ran in "their freezing snow".  At least I didn't have the baby in the stroller, or I might have gotten a "scolding". :)

Same route plus a little extra loop.  TT:  1:10:56  Splits: (sans stroller, yay! :) 9:34, 9:02, 8:40, 8:45, 8:46, 8:49, 8:37, 8:44.

It's snowing hard right now as I'm typing this...huge snow flakes...flying horizontally. You'd thunk it's back home in Utah. You should have seen baby Luke's big eyes popping wide open at the white stuff coming down...then huge smile with delight! LOVE IT!!!! :)

Oh, I just got a phone call from the school district that ALL schools in the area are releasing their students AN HOUR early and ALL after school activities are cancelled due to increment weather!

Papa and I had a good chuckle over how the Texans don't know what to do with snowy weather! :)

It snows in SE Texas? Oh my, that must have been a real treat. But it could not have been as bad as the 13 degrees it was here this morning! Great run this morning-- you're still the champ, even on vacation.

Hey, careful, we are kind of "snow-babies" down here too, , , cancelling school when the snow starts falling and such! ha ha, just teasin ya, although it is true- There's such a big difference between No Ut and So Ut!

What a treat for the kids to watch the snow come down, it's magical. Great job on getting your run in today, minus the stroller even, I bet you felt like you were flying! :) Take care!

I use to get a chuckle of how people acted in Florida when it got below 30. One time it did snow and everyone freaked out. I suppose though if we had a hurrican in the midwest I may freak out a bit...
