Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Was going to take a rest day but Karen wanted to get a run in before leaving town.  We started at 7:30 and took the hills in the neighborhood south.  It was getting so hot.  I walked the big hill up Center.  Nice chatty run.  Glad I went...need to start the month off right!  :)  Tomorrow's a different story!  So not looking forward to run slow and long by my lonesome!

I wish I could come with you! Do you wanna go out and run around 3 am? I could make that! I wish it were not hot, then I could volunteer and then come meet you to run.

Let's plan a run soon! Are you doing the RHPC 1/2?

Kel, you are so sweet! With family visiting, I've been going to bed LATE so 3 am comes TOO early! :)

We do need to plan a run soon! I have missed running with you.

No, I am not doing RHPC 1/2! Larry and I are going to be in Cedar City for bank thing that weekend...BUMMER!!!

I just read your comment on my race at Grandma's. Does your niece live in Minnesota? Anyway, it's a really great race. The city of Duluth is kind of small to put on such a major race, but it seems like the whole town pulls together to make it happen.

Plenty of cool places to check out if you want to make it a mini-vacation. The Lake Superior shoreline is beautiful and their are lots of great lodges and cabins. Watch out for the mosquitoes though!

I'm glad you got a few miles in today! I wish I could run with you tomorrow. Come early to the Riverton 10K and do some warm-up miles then finish your run with my sister and me on the race course! I'm just going to take it easy and run with her. I am SO going to miss you at the RHPC 1/2!

Next week is a long run Friday for me too. Maybe you should change plans and come out here on Friday for a long run on the 8th! Or, I could do 10-12 with you on Monday AM? You know me, I'm always up for company! :)

Rob ~ THANKS for the pluses on Grandma's! Yes, my niece and her parents live in St. Paul. I have never visited Minnesota, only the airport layover! :) I'd like to run Grandma's and make a mini-vacation to visit them.

Rachel ~ THANKS! I may take up your offer for Mon. morning run. Not sure how many miles I'll run though since I'm expecting 18 family members for a BBQ and 4th of July celebration at my house!

Kel ~ Let's do it! Keep me posted!
