Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Was gone all evening and night last night trying to shop for a dress to wear for my son's upcoming wedding.  Didn't eat dinner until 9:30 pm, legs and feet extremely tired.  Took my inhaler just before going to bed at midnight, BIG mistake!!!  It kept me up!!!!  Yick!

On the way to Draper City Park I could see the big US Flag at Geneva Rock blowing in a complete horizontal display which only means one thing:  STRONG gusty wind!!!

Despite the strong wind, I had a FUN FUN FUN run with WONDERFUL Teena, Lowell, Karen, RAD, Toby, Kathie, TomSlick.  Other GREAT Chumps: Annie, Nic, Matt, Brooke, Marty, Kim, Kendi and Andrea came too.

17.5 in 2:42:21  AP: 9:17.  I wanted to wait for Teena who needed to run 2.5 more to make 20; but had to get home for General Conference.  THANKS ALL for a GREAT time!

Busy busy busy day with company and bridal shower for my son's bride-to-be!

No details?

What about Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday?

Love and miss you! :) :) :)

Question: the sleep time, was that from Friday night or Saturday night.

(I am hoping that it was Friday night and that you were able to sleep better last night.)

From Teena Marie on Mon, Apr 04, 2011 at 00:18:32 from 67.2.71.182

Yay, you now have your week info posted.

Carrying the inhaler will not be a bother once you figure out a good way to carry it (pouch, arm band, whatever). Now I don't even notice it.

I am just happy that you are going to be able to breathe easily again!!! :) :) :)

From DaleG on Mon, Apr 04, 2011 at 00:32:25 from 67.2.13.157

Nice job, Smoothie!!! Yes, the inhalers can keep you awake. When Cody had bad asthma, we always had to give him nebulizer treatments late at night and it would make him hyper and keep him awake for hours.

SSF ~ I didn't go to bed until 2am Sunday doing wedding invitations which I barely received Sat. night after the shower from Jen's mom! Still have more to do. Anyway I did *sleep in* till 7:30 Sunday morning. It was nice to watch Conference at home.

I forgot to take the Symbicort Sat. and today. I even forgot to take my Fosomax. I am just exhausted and forgetful!

THANKS for your loving concern and always checking on me! I LOVE YOU so much! You are seriously the most genuine compassionate person I've ever met! Thank you for being my SSF! :)

From Smooth on Mon, Apr 04, 2011 at 00:40:32 from 67.2.74.200

Dale ~ I forgot to take the Symbicort inhaler yesterday and today. Now it's almost bedtime and I'm not going to take it.

SSF ~ My daughter said I need to take the Symbicort as directed to prevent me from having to take the Albuterol while running! So I guess I better do that and hopefully I won't have to carry it on the run in the summer! You know how I am with drugs! I know I'm a cry baby in more ways than one! :)

Please take care of yourself. You always have a lot on your plate. Amy and I worry about you.

It was so fun to run with you! Can't wait for Boston! I hope I can get my brain ready, I think the rest of me is ready though.

Please take care of yourself. Even Superwoman needs to take it easy every once in awhile.

I agree, take care of yourself.

Sounds like it has been a rough go of it lately. Hang in there Smooth! You are amazing and tireless...just make sure to try and get some sleep every once in a while. Good luck with the wedding and Boston! You never cease to AMAZE and INSPIRE ME!!!

Nice run with good friends. I'm glad you figured out what happened the other day when you didn't feel well. Hopefully that won't happen again.

Counting down the days till I get to see you and the gang in Boston.

From Smooth on Tue, Apr 05, 2011 at 23:27:00 from 67.2.74.200

Hi there Cath!!! Are you in Utah now? I need to check on your blog!

Rhett ~ Yep, I hope the asthmatic attack won't happen again...too scary! I still forget to take the inhaler (Symbicort) at night though. Can't wait to see you in Boston! Well, time is going by way too fast for me...so I guess I'm not counting down the days...but am VERY EXCITED!!! :) :) :)
